Provide a small space for cats to be their sanctuary by buying a cat perch or a window seat for them, this is easy to remove and relocate in other areas of a house.

You can offer food to both of them by putting food on the feeding station with a separate meal plate. Play with them together this may help them to be comfortable with each other.

  1. I have a Calico 3 year old female 🐱.She is very playful, but she’s always crying at night. I give her attention, l talk to her but still doesn’t stops. What can l do?

  2. Hi, try tiring her out right before bed by playing. If she cries for attention you should ignore her. This might last for a couple of days, but she should eventually learn that you won’t come if she whines and she’ll hopefully stop. This is what I did with my kitten!

  4. Cats don’t need regular baths! They bathe themselves. Cats should not go outdoors unless on a leash or in an enclosed catio. Cats DO NOT like their bellies rubbed. Very few do, but the majority do not. No cats on furniture? Really? I don’t know who wrote this, but it’s very misleading. I’ve lived with cats since I was in a crib. I currently have two 4 month old kittens and recently lost a 20 year old to old age. I know a thing or two about raising cats. This advice is incorrect.

  16. I need all the help I can get. I just got a 4 month old kitten, it’s just me and her. I’m 58 and don’t have a clue what I’m doing. I wanted a companion. How do I teach her not to get on the counter top.

  17. Best of luck ! I just read your post . Don’t have much advise for you . A friend told me she stopped her cats from jumping on cabinets my spraying them with water ( oh please people don’t hate me I’ve no idea if this is a Can do to help train ). I’m thinking about getting a kitten and it will be my first ever . I’m concerned about going to work 3-4 nights a week 13 hrs shifts

  18. Hello! A good and kind of funny way to get your kitten to stop getting on the counter top is to clear the countertop and lay out a crumbled up and re-stretched piece of aluminum foil. Cats hate that for some reason. Also an easy way to get the to immediately stop, grab them by the scruff of their necks and lift them off, they’ll instantly stop what they’re doing because this is how their mother grabbed them as babies. Firmly tell them NO and to stop getting on there, Cats understand us better than we give them credit for. Hope this helps!

  19. I agree with JM. Most cats hate baths. And they would rather stay home then have a ‘spa day’ on another location.

Also adopting a second cat most likely causes stress or leaves them indifferent, rather then giving them joy. If you want two cats, adopt two kittens at once.

Having to eat at the same spot with a new cat causes stress. (Very common mistake.) Eating apart is fine.
